Mr. Paul M. Schackman earned his degree in History at Princeton University. A Manhattan native and honors graduate of the Horace Mann School in New York City, he began his career there in 1978, teaching elementary school and coaching high school athletics. Mr. Schackman attended law school at Boston University, then returned to the classroom, where he has taught primary grades through high school seniors while coaching boys’ and girls’ teams in four different sports. For 18 years at independent schools both on the East Coast (New York, New Jersey, Florida) and overseas (Paris, Nassau), Mr. Schackman was an admissions director, athletic director, divisional principal (K-8, Middle School, and 7-12), and headmaster.

In addition to teaching History, Mr. Schackman is MWPV’s Advanced Placement Coordinator, Humanities Department Chair, JSA Advisor, and Mock Trial Coach. He also started our Varsity Softball program and coached the team for 8 years. Go Firebirds!
